Greetings from Central Iowa Energy!

Central Iowa Energy Welcomes Phil Abels as Operations Manager:

Phil joins CIE from Ag Processing Inc. in Sheldon, IA where he was the Operations Superintendent.  He held a variety of operations positions at four different facilities in his 27 years with AGP.  Phil is a native of Eagle Grove, IA.  We are excited to have Phil on board and are confident his experience and skills will be a key to successful operation of the plant.  Phil will be training in Ralston, Wall Lake and Albert Lea for the next several weeks before he comes to Newton to begin the hiring of staff and prepare for startup.

Construction Update:

It has been an excellent two weeks of construction.  Much focus has been placed on completing outside pipe and tank work while the weather is still favorable.  Storage tanks have begun to be heat traced and insulated.  Instrumentation testing and calibration has started.  Framing in the admin building and support areas is nearly complete.  The fence around the site is complete

  • T&S:
    Hydro testing done on : 14, 7, 8, 4, 17, 5 and all vessels and tanks in process, pour piers and safe rack footings,continue moving water and hydro testing.
     
  • Story:
    Install windows in Admit building, install canopy in dumpster area.
     
  • M & W:
    Continuing piping in: pipe rack, Process, FFA and Pre-treat areas.
     
  • Interstate:
    Wireing in Pre-treat, MCC room and boiler room.
     
  •  Skinner:
     Stairs and platform on tanks 1 & 2, platform between 5 & 17.
     
  • Trackmaster:
    Continuing track south side.
     
  • Yeager:
    Plumbing lab area.
     
  •  Midwest Fencing:
     Hanging chain link and fabricating gates.
     
  • Jensen:
    Continue laying brick to Admit building.
     
  • ICE:
    Insulate tank 17.
     
  • Anderson Construction:
    Continuing installing studs in admit building.
     
  • Teeters:
    Applying epoxy to inside of water tank Continental: pull wire.
     
  • Twin Cities Testing:
    X-ray tank 002.
