Greetings from Central Iowa Energy!

Personnel Update

Kimberly Smith has joined us as our Accounting Manager. Kim is a native of Newton who moved back to town in 2005 after 7 years in Texas. She is a CPA and has a wide variety of financial and accounting experience. She most recently worked at ITWC in Malcom. We are confident that Kim’s depth of experience and positive attitude will be key factors to the success of CIE’s business and financial operations.

We had 16 Process Operators start today and complete their employee orientation in Newton. They will be going to Carroll, IA for safety and production training for the next three weeks. After their basic training they will spend time at REG network plants that are currently operating before starting full time in Newton in mid-March.

Construction Update

REG startup crew has moved on-site and is beginning checkout procedures. Miller Mechanical also has staff on site checking instruments and setting devices. Heat trace and insulation work is progressing well.

Work done at the site includes:

  • T&S
    hydro 620 & 605, run water thru pumps, continue to work on slab for waste water tanks, put oil in pumps & drives, bump devices, install pneumatic 4” line above DE tank, run all pumps, fans & louvers in process
     
  • M&W
    Continued work in boiler room, pretreat, FFA area, pipe rack and tank farm
     
  • Interstate
    Continue wiring in process, pre-treat, tank farm and boiler room, working on devices in process,
     
  • IC&E
    Continue insulating tanks in pretreat, pipes in process & FFA area
     
  • Yeager
    Finish work on meter building & pit piping, HVAC water lines
    Anderson Construction: FRP support, drywall admit, drop ceiling in bathrooms
     
  • Skinner
    Working on roof of tank 18 and platform on meth tanks
     
  • Story Construction
    Working on punch list
     
  • ATC
    Blankets for process
     
  • MMS:
    Set all devices, position 3 ways
     
  • REG
    Continue inspection & creating punch list
